Community Tasting Notes 3

November 25, 2013 - I bought this 6 bottles and all gone now. Drank last bottle sometime back in september 2013. From the memory, this tastes horrible popped and poured. This needs full day (24 hours) for bottle to open up or decant for few hours. Very closed first day, however once it open up, it drinks beautifully. Still young and probably better in year or two. Quite fruity but elegant, colourful and depth makes this wine quite special. Somebody mentioned low acid. I thought this was too acidic and that was my only drawback. I prefered Dry bore shiraz 2008 Glen Eldon but similar style wine and both quite decent.

May 13, 2012 - Medium bodied wine with flavours of black fruit, leather, cigar box and damp earth with burnt toffee on the back palate. Restrained in style with low acid. Fine shallow tannins that don't integrate as well with the wine as they might, not a major drawback as this wine is very tasty.

March 2, 2011 - Rather big and chunky still. Not elegant, but the nose is rather pleasant. On the mouth it's still not perfectly integrated, and seems to be in a "dumb" transition phase from fruit forward primary characteristic to developing those tertiary characteristics like tobacco, and leather. I think it will get there, and that it just needs another 3-4 years to "find itself". It was very smooth going down and did not feel hot and after breathing for 3 hours or so was beginning to show promise.
