March 16, 2013 - My first Petits Monts. Stunning wine. Absolutely delicious and packes with the most fantastic flavours of wild strawberries and spices. Very very good.

September 18, 2012 - Medium red-rust color. Elegant but uncomfortably tight at the end. Had with EM and PG at JG in NYC. Can't say I agree with the price/value equation.

This is clearly a step up from both village, with enormous depth and complexity. Floral, was the aromas that hit me for the first sniffed, really seductive along with the rounded aromas of spices that only Vosne capable to produce. Curry leaf, sweet red and blue pinot fruits, coffee and brown sugar completed the complex aromatic profile. This medium bodied wine is well weighted on the palate, with fresh and pure fruits, rich spices: clove, anise and sweet fig. Very clean on the powerful finish. Very good 1er Cru. Buy - Maybe.

April 9, 2011 - Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Masterclass (St. Regis Hotel, Singapore): Excellent. This was definitely a class up from the already very good pair of Vosne villages. It had a beautiful nose, almost perfumy, with scetns of wood spice, black cherries, orange peel and a toss of flowers. Like the previous wines, there was some toastiness, but there was just more breadth and expressive to the nose here. However, nice as that was, it was on the palate that this really shone. Just stunning purity here - cherries and strawberries wrapped in a brilliantly balanced juiciness that kept the wine ever so clean, pure and absolutely focused. Alongside with the fruit, I got lots of spice - pepper, anise, cloves and, into the finish some savoury earth, meat and fruit tea notes along with a stony, minerally undertow. It all came together somewhat darker, spicier, perhaps a little more austere than the 1er Reignots drank alongside. Neverthless, this was beautiful to drink. Great now in its extreme youth, but what a stunner it will be when it grows up!

April 9, 2011 - Louis Michel Liger-Belair presents Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair (St. Regis, Singapore): As good as the Vosne villages are, the Petits Monts takes class to yet another level. The purity of the fruit is crystal clear yet stunningly intense and bold without sacrificing finesse. The cool climate character shows up clearly from the very prominent minerality. With this wine I finally understood what it means to be drinking liquid rocks. This is a little austere at the moment but everything is intact for a long life ahead.
