August 19, 2021 - This wine has absolutely aged gracefully and was an absolute pleasure to drink. We enjoyed this sitting on the balcony of the West Baden Hotel at the French Lick Resort. Soft tannins still present and oh so well balanced. Great nose, mouthfeel and long lovely finish. Don’t feel to be in a hurry to drink it up if you still have some. It will wait for you at least another 5 years. I’m happy we waited a few years before opening up this bottle. Well done Miner!

July 24, 2015 - Dark garnet in color and beautiful legs giving a huge clue to the potential quality of this wine. There is still dark fruit and spice. Blackberry on the front of the palate, giving way a a little hot mid palate (alcohol) and a blackberry and cigar on the finish. There are still plenty of tannins present so cellar on.

This is on the verge of being an exceptional wine. If the high alcohol balances out over time then the wine will be great in a few years but if it doesn't then this will be a bit of a dud considering this was an exceptional year for cabernet in Oakville. So I'm rating this a bit lower but have one more bottle that I will try again in about 5 years or so. Time will tell.

Confession: I did not give this a lot of decanting time--less than an hour. We drank quickly with dinner so maybe i just didn't treat her right.

September 30, 2014 - 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 21 months, 60% new French oak. WOW to the aroma. lots more plush red and black fruit on the nose, not all closed off like the 2006 is. chewy fruit aromas. med/+ tannin. great fruit expression. big, but balanced palate. Cab of the night, so far.

March 26, 2014 - This has woken up. Decanted for an hour, tasted still tight. At 3 hours showing great blackberry and chocolate on the nose. Raspberry tartness on the palate with tannins still grippy. Definitely showing the class of the 2007 vintage.

January 4, 2014 - Tasted at Miner Family Winery today with their Sommelier. Poured from a magnum opened one hour earlier. Lovely black cherry fruit and dust on the nose, more of the same on the palate, sharp, angular fruit on the mid palate, rich sweet/sour cherry fruit tasting, medium body, and medium/long finish.

August 1, 2013 - Decanted about 1 hour. This Cab has matured nicely in the past year. Hints of smoke, pepper and earth. Probably still has time in the bottle but this is very nice today.

September 9, 2012 - The wine upon opening was sour and immature. However after leaving it open a full day it came into its own and was quiet lovely.
