    April 11, 2020 - Lovely wine.
Dark fruit, I get plum, maybe a little currant. More herb than spice, some menthol with a mineral backbone with resolved tannins and good acidity. I can’t quite put my finger on the finish but it goes on for a long while.
This is in a good place but probably has at least another 10 years.
The only minor fault is that you know the alcohol level is on the high side (14.7 alcohol). I wouldn’t call it hot but it is there.

January 30, 2020 - All the components in this wine are in the right place. Dark fruit, minerality, integrated wood and spring flowers. Wonderful depth and texture. Aromatically pleasing. Great juice!

January 12, 2020 - Surprisingly dark fruit, good spice notes from the integrated oak and wild herbs are showcased in this Washington merlot. There is a good amount of Cabernet that doesn’t go unnoticed. Amazing depth and texture. This wine has the “X” factor that try to find. Great juice.

(Long Shadows Wineries Merlot Pedestal) Very dark red violet color; milk chocolate, berry, raspberry nose; plush, milk chocolate, plum, ripe berry palate with fine grained, sweet tannins; needs 2 years; medium-plus finish 92+ points (75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot)

(Long Shadows Pedestal Merlot Columbia Valley) Very dark in color. Abundant stewed raspberries, dark chocolate, and cigar box along with whiffs of anise. Rich and lush with silky fruit flavors, a creamy texture, and a firm grip on tannins. A lingering, fruit filled finish with a lick of cranberry. This is far from a shy wine and leans to the right side of hedonism. Needs some additional time to show its best. 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. Taptiel, Conner Lee, Dionysus, The Benches, and Weinbau vineyards. 14.7% alcohol. 2,005 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.

(Long Shadows Wineries Pedestal Merlot) 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Lush and opulent blueberry, mulberry, and boysenberry scents marry with violets and cocoa, offset by dried herbs, rich spices, and vanilla. Mocha, black cherry, currant, and licorice flow together on the palate and linger beautifully on the finish. 2,005 cases made. Winery Spotlight: Long Shadows Winery
