October 21, 2018 - I can't quite believe how well this is still drinking. This was a strong bottle, still with a decent amount of fruit. Leafy, ashy nose, gentle tannins. Guests thought it was old Bordeaux.

March 19, 2018 - Fully mature. Still showing some fruit, astonishingly, but mostly cigar box, dead leaves, pencil shavings. Light, understated palate.

July 14, 2017 - A few recent bottles have been disappointing but this is delicious and still on the fruit, ripe and mature. Bottle variation is to be expected at that age but nice to know that good bottle are still very good indeed. I suspect serving it at a warmer temperature may help - this one came out of the cupboard rather than the cellar, served at about 20-21 degrees I suspect and if that had anything to do with it it made a world of difference - lush rather than dank.

July 8, 2017 - This bottle drinking better than the last one. Medium ruby, still bright and youthful looking. Perfumed with violets, red fruits. The palate offers some the same with red berry and raspberry fruit, good acidity and fresh finish. It belies its age, wonderful stuff.

May 28, 2017 - Plenty of fruit here, though its heading into maturity very gradually. Green pepper and blackcurrant leaf add character, but its never vegetal. Almost savoury at times, the tannins are resolved and really very fine. Good acidic backbone, this is surprisingly youthful for a wine of its age. Probably won't improve, but delicious right now.
