May 2, 2010 - Is Kirk leaving? (With Photos) (Sips Restaurant in Southwest Harbor, ME): Color: Ruby

Smell: Earth, cedar, funk, coffee, tobacco, and dark fruits.

Taste: Red fruit, red vines licorice, and hints of clove.

Overall: A very interesting wine that shines in what it offers. Great acid/tannin/fruit structure that could easily last another 5+ years with proper storage.

June 22, 2009 - Wow, excellent wine! This had the typical rugged flavors found in the sangiovese of the region but being a merlot was more fruity and bright. A nose of cedarwood, slate, dark chocolate berry and tuscan soil. Explosive tart cherry and dark raspberry on the palette along with oak and a perfect balance of acidity and tannins. There was also a layer of caramel or candy to this. I absolutely loved this bottle!

November 3, 2005 - Extremely elegant, intense and fresh. Way too young. Will try again in 3 years.
