April 13, 2024 - This wine is finally coming around. For most of its life it has been astringent with higher than desired tannins and acid. Was morr balanced and more mature with classic pinot flavors.

December 9, 2017 - cork was soft an broke when opening. closed nose, veggy greenache in mouth with just a hint of fruit. not a typical pinot but characteristic of prior tastings.

June 22, 2014 - Hosscrow's TN is terrific. Not much to add other than there's no obtrusive oak, ie the extra year he called for seems to have done the trick. Really deep, dusty, fleshy stuff that deftly balances several savory elements with the fruit. Carneros near its best. Lots of life left.

April 25, 2014 - Ruby red with aromas of dark fruit, cola and spices. It was balanced, very smooth and had rich cherry cola flavors. The finish was clean and had a little vanilla after tastes.

May 18, 2013 - Saturday, May 18, 2013 - Bright red. Hints of purple. Ready to drink now at 7 years. Almost opaque, very dark for a pinot, typical of Carneros. Complex briary nose of dark fruit, cola, vanilla oak and a hint of spice/cinnamon. Green tea. Delicious Blackberry, tart cherry, soft to no tannins, strong oak (might be tamed by an another year in the bottle), with a full bodied and silky texture and an extended sweet fruit finish. Well made and beautifully balanced. Stanley Ranch is huge and Saintsbury is a pinot specialist so they know how to get a full expression from this site.

Much, much better than the 2006 that I drank last year.
