October 14, 2023 - Sit down tasting, double blind. Pleasant, rich, but fully mature and getting tired. Seemed new world.

April 10, 2021 - This one may be on the downslope. Drank along side the 2009, and much preferred that vintage.

December 11, 2020 - Dark red, medium to full body, complex nose. Lots of wood and leather. I don’t think it gets better than this.

May 29, 2020 - Popped and poured this, my last bottle, Friday night. Delicious! Blackberry and plum fruit, tar, espresso and bitter dark chocolate flavors. Still holding up very well, with years to go before decline. Drink now - 2025.

May 13, 2020 - Perhaps held on to this wine a bit too long but still enjoyable. Great body and mouth feel. Had adequate heft for New York stip.

March 14, 2020 - Cork broke in half but otherwise OK, no signs of seepage. 30-minute decant. Remarkably fresh for a 12-year old. Fruit, sweet and savory notes are complex and well-integrated. Delicious. Can't see this improving but seems to have some life left. Enjoy now or over the next 3-4 years if you're lucky enough to have some.

January 15, 2019 - Decanted 30 min. Seriously good stuff, right from the pop. Had to strain/decant due to the cork falling apart trying to remove it, but the decant was good. Blackberry fruit, savory tar, espresso and fresh ground pepper flavors, with bakers chocolate on the finish. Drink now - 2024.

March 5, 2018 - My first and only bottle, I've held onto for roughly 10 years and it was well worth the wait. I'm not sure there much development left. My 2008 Owen Roe Lady Rosa Syrah was totally gone when I opened it a few weeks ago.

February 6, 2018 - Best Syrah I have had in years. No hint of age or rusting in the color, still a deep dark purple. Super smooth with bold dark fruit but not jammy with smooth tannins and a crazy long finish! Not sure if this wine will get any better but it still has a ton of life left in it. I would say easily another 10-15 years. Now I see why it got a 97 or something like that upon release. Very bummed this was my last bottle. CT drinking window is way off on this wine.
