March 29, 2024 - There is something about this wine which screams Angerville, the light red fruit and the mineral footprint makes a stunning palate. Quite playful already from start, the fruit more on the lighter red side - with time the wine puts on more weight and somewhat darker elements of fruit. The alrady great balance improves. Great length. Great acidity, smooth tannins. Start of the mature window ish now, but in no way a shame starting to enjoy these now - from now on preferences are the main choice. I'll revisit every 18-24 months from now on.

January 19, 2024 - Lovely middleweight. For me, it's early maturity. A little tense on opening but relaxed after about 15-20 minutes. Darker/bluer fruit than I expected, but still fresh. Some secondary development. I'm always on the lookout for Volnays from other producers that I hope will match Lafarge and d'Angerville. A lot of producers have improved over the last decade, but these two are still at the top of the heap for me.
