May 24, 2019 - No formal notes, but this was a beautiful bottle of wine.
March 25, 2018 - Last bottle, but sadly it was too late. Cork was pristine but the ravages of time took their toll. Almost no life left in it... A faint echo of what it once was... If you have any left, I'd try it asap and hope you get luckier than I.
November 22, 2012 - Took a little while after decanting, but once it opened up this was a very good bottle of wine. Leather and earth tones underlying a pleasant amount of berry and cassis. Might be near the end of its best years but right now very very good.
February 13, 2012 - Absolutely phenomenal. Complex and full.
September 16, 2011 - This is a gem and Fisher Vineyards at its finest. I am sad this is my last bottle but it was in an awesome place. Roasted cherry and mature raspberry combined with a soft mouth feel that danced on the palate. This iwine was harmonius and elegant. There was a touch of oack and a bit of a clipped finish but the sweet tannins rounded out the experience. Before I knew it, my glass was empty and I was yearning for more. Bravo!
August 7, 2009 - Precise, focused aromas of blackberry liqueur, scorched earth, dried tobacco and white pepper. Medium bodied and tense, with the fruit moving to an earthy cherry and a nice rotten leaf note. A bright, sinewy, peppery, youthful finish. Based on this bottle there is another 15 years in it. Certainly complex, but not compelling and rather angular.
July 12, 2009 - Aromatically - ripe plum kirsch cherry, wet soil, and clove. On the palate a dense wine with layers of flavor and tannin. Kirsch cherry, mineral, and a slightly drying tannin on the finish. Aromatically still excellent and on the palate tannin is drying a little but should last another 5 years easily.
May 25, 2009 - At its peak. Excellent depth of fruit with with notes of dark cherry and oak highlights, totally resolved tannins. While I will often drink and enjoy older tasting cabs, I may have to change my ways. This is at the apex for me in terms of development.
February 28, 2009 - Simply excellent. Drink up and buy up as many as you can find.
March 31, 2008 - solid performance.
