    September 9, 2019 - Fun flight of 88, 93, 99 & 2013.
1988: The 88 was still incredibly youthful, in fact so much so that it took quite a while to open up. There is still much upside left for these.
1993: The definition of a "wine in the zone". Perfect in every way, and all you could ask for from this wine. Fantastic, and easily WOTF.
1999: There was a touch of something (let's call it funk vs oxidation) on this bottle. With time though, it really came around (at least for me), and I liked it a lot, particularly with food.
2013: One youngster in the flight, and while maybe not a rock-star, this is a very enjoyable vintage of Carillon Referts. I liked it.

September 3, 2017 - Awesome- perfect color, amazing richness and racy acidity. Can't believe this was 1988

March 29, 2014 - Private Dinner (New York, NY): In superb shape, its light golden color giving the appearance of a much younger wine. Benefitted from some time in the glass. Butterscotch, hazelnut, and apricot are just some of the aromas and flavors. Great concentration. While I felt this had more depth than the 1991, it wasn't fat by any means; in fact, it had a rather lean quality and an ever-so-slight sharpness to the finish. This was my last bottle and if I had others I'd drink them soon. Rated 2 on a scale of -1 to 3.
