December 29, 2014 - Pop'n pour. Very nice nose of Red plum and some spice.
Started with nice red plum and some red berry, but with a little time a very nice menthol core and a little wood started to show.

    August 5, 2013 - from a 375
Purchased for $15 on release. Popped, and ready to go. Very spicy mature red berries with some evergreen, a slight of wood, but not nearly as much of the earth as others have found. a bit of dark cherry in the middle, a bit short on the finish, but its freshfresh.
This is what I love about burgundy, totally accessible, totally inexpensive. Wish this was the case more often.

October 23, 2012 - A little burnt earth, red pinot fruit, nice spice and a mossy sous bois side. Supple and giving, with excellent texture, mid palate balance and an expansive mouthfeel for its size. This comes at you rather than drawing you in, and I am in the mood for that tonight. I really enjoy the texture here. Long, lovely and an excellent mix of fruit and savory, with nice sap, and I really like Rieslingfan's freshly turned earth description. A spot on, giving '02 CdB. Not profound, but outstanding and drinking youthfully great right now. A wine to drink and enjoy.

July 7, 2012 - Dark fruit, freshly turned earth and a bare hint of leather around the edges that hints at emerging maturity. Still needs some time to develop more, but drinking fairly well right now.

July 7, 2012 - Fully mature with nice mix of dark cherry, sous bois, and minerals. Initially very earthy nose that fleshes out into more mineral/floral notes with air. This was popped and poured, but I think a slow-ox would help.

March 10, 2012 - Very expressive and open right out of the bottle with rich earthy, soily aromas married to deep red and black cherry fruits that are still relatively primary and fresh. The balance of fruit and structure here is impeccable. Open knit and well delineated and detailed now. This also has room for further development as there is still plenty of fruit amongst a very fresh acidity. Lovely now and will improve a bit.

September 17, 2010 - Bought on release. 1 case. This wine is coming arround. No longer too tight to drink. Elegant spicy red fruits on the nose, still a little muted. Similar on the palate. The depth is becoming more apparent since the last tasting 1 year ago. Mod long finish. Ok with decanting, but wine needs 1-2 years as it seems it should get much better. Should be killer with more time. Great value.

February 16, 2010 - Opened a bottle two weeks ago. Finally has reached its potential. We have been drinking a bottle a year since 2005, and it has been ho-hum up to now. Fabulous fragrance and aroma.

February 10, 2010 - Humble Beaune provides the wow factor. Fabulous fruit, warm earth and fantastic structural harmony make this one of the most surprising wines I have had in a long time. This was from half bottle, so perhaps fulls may not quite be ready to show this well, but I'm thrilled I opened this wine tonight.
