Tasted non blind. Tasted from Magnum.
Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of leather, soapstone, black berries and black cherries. Flavors of black cherries, black berries and dark plums. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or continue to hold in this format. -

April 27, 2017 - Rioja Muga GR & SE Vertical Tasting Event plus Dinner (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Notes of whiskey and roasted nuts. Also leathers but does not gain in complexity. In the mouth has a watery texture that has lost all of its initial structure, there are almost no tannins seems to me as lifeless, close to decrepitude, saved only by acidity. In my modest opinion, its moment passed long away.

May 1, 2014 - Drank from magnum, cork came apart trying to remove it. Decanted briefly to encourage it to settle after a long ride to the beach. Beautiful perfectly aged Rioja drinking at its prime. Color, taste, and character all say, "drink me". Probably has more time ahead of itself, but there's no need to wait. Looking forward to the next occasion to enjoy a bottle.

June 29, 2013 - Garnet. Nose was brilliant, rich, tobacco, anise, cedar. Taste was medium weight, rich, lovely and one of the best at a tasting of non-Cabs. Served from Magnum.
