October 21, 2023 - This is essentially a TBA. Sticky bottle. Wine is deep brown, syrupy. Nose is raisin, date, a little fig. Surprising orangey acidity on the palate, along with the expected massive caramel toffee sweetness. It's a one two punch that is none too subtle (yet it finds a balance), although there is a little minerality and some oolong developing. Delicious. This will continue to age well and develop further.

March 12, 2023 - At home. From 375ml bottle. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, brown colour. Thin legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of vinyl, petroleum, raisins, marmalade, caramel, toffee, Boal Madeira notes that seem to blow off after a while. Developed.
On the palate, very sweet, high acidity, low alcohol (7%), unctuous full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of honeyed marmalade, orange peel, juicy raisins and prunes, botrytis spice, caramel, toffee sweets. Long lingering sweet spicy finish.
Tough to wrap my head around this wine. The colour on first pour was admittedly very scary, and the initial whiff of Madeira had me thinking flawed. The palate though, is very much alive and complex. Somehow keeps drawing you back for another sip despite the thick syrup density of the wine.

April 21, 2019 - Excellent desert wine. Deep golden brown color. Flavors of medjool dates, brown sugar, papaya and vanilla.

April 25, 2015 - Excellen dessert wine. Dark in color, nice aciidity and good amount of residual sugar.

November 18, 2011 - Dark gold color, nearly brown. The nose is exactly what one expects. Brown sugar, tropical fruit and stone fruit. Full bodied, mouth coating Riesling. The Botryitis is evident here as this takes on a heavy raisin quality on the mid palate which persists. This yields to spiced apples and even some orange peel. Medium to high acidity keeps the fruit bright. Predictably, a long and showy finish. Delicious and decandent.
