    August 26, 2020 - Pnp due to age. More sediment then I expected. Love the same wine with younger years and was hoping for the same soft tannins. More acidity than expected, drinking like a young Brunello. Would not repeat.

The oak was clearly evident and a large partof the expression of the wine. That's not nearly the terrible thing many would lead us to believe it is these days. But it's also disappointing when the wine doesn't match it's volume or merely use that oak as seasoning. This is in that category. A nice experience but more nouveaux than classic.

    March 8, 2019 - This was a lost bottle in my cellar that turned up. Cork was fine and no leakage. Nose like fingernail polish -actetone.

    March 2, 2019 - Cork crumbled. Very port-like nose of plums, silky tannins, medium body, plums and blackberries, long finish. Fun to try and still lots of fruit.

    September 12, 2018 - Fill into neck with perfect cork. Allowed to breathe in glass 2 hours before tasting. Clear deep dark garnet color. Off-putting savory and volatile aromas of meat juice, black olives and shoe polish led me to suspect improper storage. Bouquet remained disappointing throughout the first evening. However, after overnight storage in the refrigerator under vacuum stopper, the bouquet improved markedly on the second day, now showing blackberry pie, black cherry compote, anise, dark baking spices, camphor, forest floor. Similar on the palate, full body, balanced, seamless. Remained enjoyable on the third and fourth evenings. Rating withheld due to questionable storage. Well stored bottles should have many good years remaining.

    June 21, 2018 - Slightly past its prime, but still very good for its age. Mild but solid black fruit, cassis. Good structure and finish.
