March 23, 2019 - 4th Saturday Group dinner bottle (non blind). I'm a big fan of these old Laurel Glen bottles. Red fruits with some floral and other tertiary notes. Drinking well.

March 23, 2019 - 4th Saturday group uptown tasting (R&D's): Courtesy of Sue. Always a treat to taste these older Laurel Glens, and good to get a read on one that is still in my cellar. Garnet core with some bricking. Red currant, plum and lavender with a terrific underlying earthiness. These always have that wonderful old world character. Red berry fruit and leather on the palate. Has a slight bit of tannin yet. For my palate, this vintage is finally approaching peak. Drink now-2025. 93+ pts.

December 1, 2017 - This is the perfect example of why I seek and drink mature California Cabs! Fabulous nose, gorgeous palate, delicious!

September 30, 2017 - Beautiful and mature bouquet with cherries, cinnamon and other sweet spices as well as autumn forest. On the palate cherries and raspberries, a slight touch of bell pepper, chocolate, toast and coffee. Silky soft with good acidity and soft tannin and lovely sweet spices. Lovely wine which is ready now and without any hurry to drink it. Great!

September 30, 2017 - Retrospective: California 90s (Restaurant Bottles, Sas van Gent): Perennial ringer in our blinded high-end Napa-tastings.... And it always performs!
