July 28, 2021 - On the nose, Salvia, herbs, pepper, matured wine, leather
On tha palate: Soil, black fruit, pepper, meat, leather and fine herbs.
Very fine and balanced wine that might be losing the touch shortly. (Please note that this was not drunk in the best glasses.)
    Medium + finish

April 18, 2020 - A fruit filled Tuscan experience. Really top notch. Lacks the spice you’d expect from a Syrah but has the cinnamon and baking powder. Smooth and easy.

November 10, 2019 - Still plenty of structure, and you sense the high quality syrah fruit, but pretty muted fruit and taste. For the money you can certainly do a lot better. But perhaps just in a dull phase.

June 12, 2019 - Just bought this bottle today at a small Italian merchant. Had it this evening with Lasagne al forno.
Bottle was in a good condition. Great ripe red fruits, very nice mouthfeeling. Soft tannins and a long finish. No need to aerating it - this is in a beautiful drinking spot right now. Drink now until 2023.

May 22, 2017 - I have had many of the Paleo from Le Macchiloe have always been impressed. I love the super tuscans where the variety is outside the Cabernet, Merlot, Sanjiovese. This is 100% Syrah and I have been anticipating the Scio for some time. While this is not your typical Northern Rhone, you do get the sense that this is Syrah and this was drinking beautifully. Very hard to describe where this relates more to (Rhone, Central Coast, Australia, etc). I got the sense that this was more like a great Sonoma Syrah that lacks the pepper, oil, black fruit of a Northern Rhone or Central Coast and drinks a little lighter but is also very elegant. I have one more of the 06 and a couple of the 10's.
