September 15, 2023 - Ripe, tart black fruit. Good concentration, but on the firm/austere side, with lots of silky tannins that are nevertheless drying. Finishes with a long interplay of fruit and earth. Delicious and unusually ripe for the vintage, but if I owned more I would be worried that the fruit isn't going to outlast the tannins.

Btw, it's remarkable how spot-on Meadows' note from 13 years ago is for this wine.

May 31, 2022 - Mark Lipton isn't far off. Still a bit young, IMHO. Given the vintage, however, maybe not. I'd like the acidity to soften a bit, but possibly that's a forlorn hope in 2008. Quite intense, good flavors, depth. The very tiniest bit shrieky.

January 15, 2022 - Similar to my last note, only better. More open and expressive, after spending about an hour in the glass (Coravin’d, so effectively PnP). Would’ve given this a 93 but the finish doesn’t linger quite as long as one would hope (there’s a hint of oak on the finish that’s actually a bit drying).

November 14, 2021 - Second Sunday Group: 1990 Burgundies (Neil's): Deep ruby color with notes of cherry and earth with a subtle smoky undertone. Medium body. Loads of cherry and red pinot fruit on the palate, with earthy accents and a hint of spice in the finish. Still quite lovely, with plenty of life ahead. (PB)

November 6, 2021 - This isn't ready yet, unsurprisingly , though possibly it's approaching the very beginning of an early drinking window. Some development is evident, but a dense tannic veil dominates, cloaking fruit and acidity both. The signature slightly burnt flavor of the 2009 vintage is modest and in the background. Hold for at least several years.

March 7, 2021 - This is a wine hitting on all cylinders right now. Richly fruited but with impeccable structure, it reminds me of why we buy Burgundy. Not fabulously complex but incredibly enjoyable and screaming with typicity.

December 8, 2020 - Agree with the earlier comment: lovely Beaune. Nice balance. Soft, with classic burgundy understated elegance. Nose evoked steak tartare for some reason- raw meat and caper salinity? A touch of licorice, and some cherry as well. Some sediment in the bottle, but there wasn’t too much stem on the palate. In fact, it was surprisingly fine. Not a show stopper by any means, but a very nice 1er Cru especially given the price point.

September 13, 2020 - Ruby red with slight bricking. Very airy aromas of bright red berries - sour cherry, cranberry, forest floor, cigar box, pressed dried florals and wood spice. Medium bodied palate shows sour and sweet bright small red berries, salty and savory notes, bright acidity, no tannins, still present oak and an extremely perfumed tobacco leaf, perfumed wood spice infected finish. Nice...

March 24, 2020 - Absolutely lovely. Color was brick, especially around the rim. Nose had a lovely earthy smell with fruit trying to push their way through. Flavor was multi layered with great acidity.
One of the more enjoyable burgundy wines I have had at home.
