September 7, 2020 - Intense with full tannings and still drinking well at 20 years old. Will hold nicely for another 10 years.

September 5, 2020 - No decanting. On the nose, leather & tar with some over-ripe dark fruit notes. The sip brings in definite fig and cherry with tobacco hints. the leather background is still there. The tanins are still present. on the finish a nice note of pepper pops up. Extremely enjoyable.
Paired with cured meats and cheese.

July 20, 2020 - Decanted and drank over two days. Palate and taste best described as old leather, fermented black fruit with a touch of tar. Tannins remotely present. Enjoyable and interesting from non-fresh standpoint.

July 17, 2020 - Good perfumed nose, darker fruit, left bank margaux. Good balance and nice finish.

(Chateau Kirwan Margaux) Dense, dark nose, with black fruit, but otherwise really quite closed. Full palate, with sweet fruit, and good structure too. Strong, tannic background, culminating in a brutish, tannic finish. There is plenty of potential here. This is very good indeed.

(Château Kirwan) Purple black red violet color; nice berry, cassis, herbaceous nose; lovely, concentrated, berry, cassis, herbaceous palate; medium-plus finish
