February 4, 2021 - Cellaraid Discovery Box; 5/19/2017-5/26/2021 (Delivered to Home): Medium deep garnet. Aromas of dried leaves and some oriental herbs, as well as some tart cherry. Resolved tannins whilst some good amount of acid that gave some lift, as well as ripe red cherry, dried grass, and dried herbs, and a hint of nutmeg. Medium length

April 1, 2017 - Short note from dinner with friends.
Another wine that has suffered from the ultra-hot 2003 vintage.
Nose is mature, with cherries, cherry liquor, plums, raisins, figs, warm earth, almost burnt, oak, leather and alcohol.
Palate shows somewhat cocked overripe and stewed jammy fruits, with oak and high alcohol.
I like this very fine Sangiovese from this producer, allot, but definitely NOT in this vintage.
I guess they did as good as they could given the circumstances, but it did clearly not help.
This will never be good. -

July 7, 2013 - Seems to be slightly more open than some of the other TNs. Nice nose. Dark cherry with a decently long finish with some tobacco notes. Agree with the "very good but not great" especially at this price.

May 1, 2010 - Ultimate Parker in Singapore Mega-Tasting (The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore): 80% Sangiovese. Not a bad wine, but not great. More mouthcoating tannins here, but this was rather more approachable than the other wines in the stable. Rather nice on the nose, with lush sweet cherry and plum scents along with a hint of flowers and a bit of tomato stew. Rather extracted on the palate, with those tannins and plenty of sweet fruit in prune and plum flavours. Good fruit I would say. Sweet, but not overly so, and nicely buttressed by slightly more savoury, beefy tomato stew flavours. Finish had a linger of prune and orange peel, along with some plum powder, all slightly dried I thought - not too good a sign when considering the wine's potential longevity! I might be dead wrong, but I would not expect this to improve much beyond the next 5 years or so.
