October 2, 2019 - This had a lovely sweet vanilla nose, caramel, fruit and the palate was delicious and had a complex finish of sweet fruit, round tannins and a depth that went on for some time. Drank this alongside the CVNE 2014 Reserva and this was class. This has years ahead of it. 92
September 7, 2019 - Nez fermé et bouche un peu rustique au depart. Mais avec l aeration, le nez devient de plus en plus expressif et complexe. Meme chose en bouche, les tanins deviennent soyeux, atteint une belle rondeur. En final, il est fort agréable. Vin qui a besoin d un séjour en carafe.

August 19, 2019 - Less impressive than what I was expecting (after thoroughly enjoying this back in 2015): the notes of wet forest, mushroom, and dirt are still there, but complexity and tertiary notes were minimal over 3+ hours of tasting, including 2 hours of decanting. It did benefit from air though.
August 9, 2019 - Lovely. Mature, fully integrated tannins and oak. Round and supple on the palate with spice box, herbs and toast underpinning the cassis and red fruit. Great value.
July 14, 2019 - Strawberry and earth on the nose; on the palate, cherry, raspberry, currant, and notes of orange rind, dill, and savory spices, with light tannins and powerful acidity on the long finish. This is excellent, and it was an excellent to outstanding value at a little over $40. It's early in its drinking window, and it could go another 20 years; Rioja ages unusually slowly in my experience.

June 24, 2019 - Cedar, caramel, giving way to taut acidity, wild mountain strawberry, good length. Tannins fully integrated. Great P'n'P, and developed well in the glass, but likely to fade quickly if decanted. In a really good place and while no rush this is unlikely to develop significantly. Suggest pairing with food with classic flavour profiles to ensure full nuance appraciated (this is no barbecue red). Really delicious.
May 26, 2019 - Love this, but I'm totally biased: La Rioja Alta is my favorite producer. Fresh and lightweight upon opening, red fruits on the nose very pretty, red/brick red/amber hues in the glass. Dried cherry, all kinds of spices and that orange peel and acidity. Elegant but powerful somehow, no sign of funk despite the age. Moved this bottle from CT to CO!! And glad I did. Finish goes on forever. Love this with grilled steak and roasted potatoes // veggies. Drinking perfect now, started to fade after 2 - 3 hours ....
