Community Tasting Notes 5

November 27, 2020 - Lovely caramel sweetness went perfectly with thanksgiving pie.

  • portman63 Likes this wine: 90 points

September 12, 2016 - Rich and deep raisiny with some molasses and enough acidity for the finish, but simpler than I would have hoped. Still a nice evening capper over a few nights, just not the best vintage for this production.

June 18, 2012 - Not as complex as the 2003, but still a very enjoyable dessert wine with dried and candied stone fruit, honey and noticeable VA. Full-bodied, very sweet but nicely balanced with an endless aftertaste.

June 17, 2012 - Interesting nose with apricots, creme brulee and caramel, beeswax and honey. Luscious palate very balanced and not at all heavy despite its sweetness. Notes of VA on the nose were expected and added to the complexity of the wine.

June 17, 2012 - Expressive nose I suspect quite youthfull since no tertiary notes were present. Very ripe slightly lifted with apricot, melon, marzipan and integrated oak. Luscious on palate with possibly more than 200-220 g/l rs that are well balanced by acidity. Viscous with tremendous extract and persistent finish. Can keep for ages.
