September 21, 2012 - Opened, inspected and re-corked, to be served in 7 hours with grilled, boneless leg of lamb. Youthful appearance, dark ruby core. Cork in perfect, squishy condition. The first salvo is some really bright cranberry and red currants. A few minutes of swirling reveals roast beef, iodine, cassis fruit and zippy red and white floral notes. Medium toward full-bodied on the entry, the tannins take over straight-away, slowly giving way to a very pure expression of Cabernet fruit and generous, fresh acids. Just lovely, and squarely in its drinking window now, but if this bottle is representative, it has a long future ahead of it (pushing back drinking window in CT). This vineyard is manicured down to the last rock, and the care shows all the way through the 60 second finish. Still some good upside potential here. Bravo! 14,2% abv, drink thru 2022, 100% Clone 337, the way this clone is supposed to show. recommended.

September 4, 2011 - PnP. Medium-dark ruby, clear signs of age and a thick watery edge. No barnyard here, purely mineral and cassis driven, bright, high-toned red fruits, fig, red licorice, touch of smoke. Very pretty on the nose. Full-bodied palate with cool acidity, tart cherry, red currant, blackberry pie. More old world than new, this is showing perfectly right now. 30+ second finish. Recommended +, 14,2% abv, drink thru 2017.
