October 31, 2015 - Let restaurant staff have the rest of bottle after tasting. Overblown, glorified Rombauer with no structure...grocery store Chardonnay.

March 5, 2015 - Very, very nice and likely peaked in the past year. Expected less as it is 6 years old and with 15% alcohol did not expect it to have sufficient acidity or holding power. Plenty of minerals as well on well-integrated apple and melon fruit. It does come across as plenty hot, especially on the finish.

February 3, 2014 - I pulled this since I am headed off to NYC in the morning for the In Pursuit of Balance tasting, hosted by Jasmine Hirsch (thanks to a certain Dude for getting me a ticket). I bought this at the winery a few years ago. A great nose of pineapple and lemon, with a great creaminess and balance. There is an interesting nuttiness on the lingering finish. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

June 28, 2013 - Lemon and honeydew, with excellent body and length, this wine is slightly sweet up front, but barrels on with a tart andslightly saline finish. Liquid sunshine!

(Hirsch Vineyards Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast) From a relatively challenging vintage on the Sonoma Coast, the Hirsch is a delicious example of California Chardonnay. Showing a refreshing restraint in its use of new wood, it is driven by mineral tones and lively acidity rather than toast, vanilla, and caramel. It has an Old World sensibility, yet retains all the joy and electricity of New World fruit. This tiny, family-owned winery upholds the highest level of integrity and quality, and its wines are proof. Hot Picks
