October 25, 2023 - Still kicking after 16 years! Very spring mountain-esque with red and black fruit on the nose and mouth. A bit bigger at 15.1%, but still drinks very much like a Spring Mountain Cabernet.

Tannins have softened to the point of being 3/4 settled or greater, but the freshness of the fruit and the acidity is what always amazes me about Spring Mountain fruit.

Well made? Definitely. Hard to find? Yup. Worth every penny of the $45 I spent!

January 2, 2021 - Decanted and drank over 3 days. Best on Day 2. Nose became rich and earthy with hint of menthol on the finish... but these faded on Day 3. Palate held up better - dark fruit and tart cherry. Chocolate notes not as present as earlier bottles displayed. Medium long finish with a nice residual touch of tannins. Still solid.

March 26, 2020 - Still drinking quite well. Very little amber, cork intact and still very dry. Nice wine that is holding its structure even after a dozen years.

March 10, 2019 - Lost the cork but wine was intact. Took some time to open up. Once it did, floral notes, with subtle fruit. Dry and yet still great wine.

May 20, 2018 - Very good. Getting a little long in the tooth, but still good. I wouldn't wait a lot longer on it though. That said, I decanted 3 hours, so maybe 90 minutes would have been better.

February 5, 2018 - This one evolved nicely over the course of the evening. Initially, the wine was a bit boring with big red fruits on the nose and palate, but little complexity. With a couple hours of decanting though the red fruit receded, replaced by plum and chocolate.

January 14, 2018 - 1hr decant but needed more, which leads me to believe this bottle has aging potential left. Very dark purple color. Huge fruit on the nose, but also very hot, which is confirmed by the 15% OH on the label. Deep fruit highlighted by plums and dark cherry, with massive tannins. Very short finish. I would say very average Napa Cab, with better values out there.
