February 13, 2022 - The wine was sensational from the first pour..what a treat to find this in the cellar. On the palate there was lots of chocolate, cherry and some plum. It still has years left to go. Enjoy!!

October 24, 2020 - This is a special wine. It doesn't show any of it's 14 years, it's still a baby. Bing and dark cherry, no brick on the rim - primary fruit is on the forefront. It almost has peter-pan syndrome. Lush and full with an expansive mouthfeel. All in complete balance - no heat at all. Finish just keeps going and going. I imagine this wine has years and years ahead of it, and it is perfect right now too.

March 21, 2020 - My tasting notes from last May are still accurate and I would add a particular herbal nuance that I found in this last bottle with hints of eucalyptus as well. Black cherry fruit still present, and for a wine that achieved 15.2% abv, it is remarkably not hot on the palate! Tremendous wine that still has another 10 years in my opinion. Further confirms this special plot of dirt high above Napa!

May 25, 2019 - Oh man this wine is ridiculously good at 13 years of age! Loads of structure and dark berry fruit with licorice spice and a nose that keeps you smelling the glass long after the unfortunate last sip. Best bottle of wine I’ve had in a long time. Will stand up to any Grand Vin I’ve had from Napa. I hate the way Napa prices are trending but if you can buy a premium wine at auction for a “reasonable” price then they are still worth every penny.
