  June 18, 2012 - Medium ruby with garnet rim. Developed nose but fresh fruit of raspberries and red currant, tobacco and wet leaves, cigar box. Medium bodied, poised and in excellent condition, vibrant and crisp, fruit-forward but savory with lovely tertiary flavors of tobacco and smoke, some caramel/mocha character. An element of herbaceousness - dried herbs - bloomed and evolved, -- no greenness here, with fully integrated tannins. Lithe and pretty. Medium finish; probably at peak.

  September 3, 2006 - Paumanok and Lenz (LI): ripe rich and powerfull, but with great acidity and none of the CA sweetness. leather notes, oak is there but well integrated. good stuff - and will age.

  September 3, 2006 - North Fork, Long Island wines: Lenz and Paumanok: Deep ruby color. Nose of spicebox, leather and flowers with a Bordeaux profile of black fruits. Good presence on the palate with a long finish. This one had been open for 24 hours according to Charles Massoud.
