February 18, 2024 - Slightly more fruit driven and younger seeming than the 08 Rayas next to it. At first this was quite closed on the nose, but a slow ox opened it up beautifully.

November 17, 2021 - Wow! An incredible wine… Very mature, transparent, some brownish color, was afraid of oxydation when pouring…but then a mixture of red fruits jumps at you, with rasperry dominating, light and very elegant, long finish…Now I understand all the hype around Rayas… even if it is only a Pignan.

May 13, 2021 - Opened decanted and drank over 4 hours. This was drinking beautifully with typical strawberry kirch flavours with great length and finish.

February 20, 2020 - Strawberries & cream, young, lovely, but bit short, pretty is the word

August 6, 2019 - First bottle of the Pignan; its a wild wine; the nose is explosive with bright red berry fruits, herbs, initially a hint of earth and vegetal that blows off to reveal more liqueur like red fruits and spice; the palate is full and rich, more so than I would expect for the vintage, and leaves a lingering red fruit and floral finish. Really quite delicious; seems mature, but in no danger of declining.
