    May 23, 2023 - Perfect cork.
    Dark brick red color.
    Aromatics are somewhat reserved.
Oyster-shell and a little red raspberry with some wild strawberry (almost no fruit, might be in a dumb phase)
    Tannins are plush.
    Hold

May 19, 2023 - I was worried this was past its prime... Not at all. A little aeration and this full bodied smooth and tasty specimen is still going strong. Opened this 2008 when I couldn't locate my last bottle of 2005. I was pleasantly surprised, as was my guest. I hope I can locate my last 2008 bottle.. maybe it's in hiding with the 2005 ;)

September 24, 2022 - This bottle was hitting on all cylinders - rich and elegant, balanced and smooth, and lovely on the palate.

December 23, 2021 - Lots of tart plum. Finish is a bit clipped. Very good but a bit one dimensional, so very good but not amazing.

December 8, 2021 - Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; Some random wines.: Beautiful, slightly smoky bouquet with dark berries and garrigue. On the palate a full bodied, yet elegant and concentrated wine with herbs and spices, mocha, beautiful acidity and a touch of sweetness.

November 26, 2021 - Decanted 4 hr. Went well with turkey thanksgiving. Wine is choosy with the meal combinations. Some chocolate flavors. One of these left. Thinking it should sit for a long time. Maybe those 22,5 years from CT Erics recent email on another CDP.

June 22, 2021 - Half of the bottle decanted for 3 hours and drank over a few hours. Other half slow oxed and drank over a few hours.

    Decanted:
Rusty light red in the glass. Nose of alcohol, dried sweet red fruit, savory spice, cigar box, menthol cigarettes, soy sauce (?). On the palate, light to medium weight, ripe tart fruit, alcohol, initially silky. Short tart finish with tannins.

    Slow oxed:
Nose of ripe red fruit, dried red fruit, hint of funk. On the palate, dried fruit, alcohol, mint. More mid palate weight. Short tannic finish.

I wanted to like this more than I actually did. Not sure if this is over the hill or too young...it's just disjointed. I'll hold my last bottle for a couple years and see what happens.

January 3, 2021 - Schöner eleganter CDP, aber ohne die Wucht und Würze besserer Jahrgänge, trotzdem ein sehr schöner Essensbegleiter

September 25, 2020 - Needs to breathe to take the edge off. Coravined a glass and started sipping. Needed more time, so I let it sit for another hour. Suggest 3 hr decant to smooth out.
