February 7, 2020 - Perfect Balance; good pressure on the palate; Long finish; at Peak and should Stay there for a Couple of years
September 12, 2019 - Forward, ripe, dry dusty tannins. Ripe but flat. Lacks acidity\.no length. Pleasant. But Really quite average (on this bottle)
July 20, 2019 - Soooo good. Similar notes to last time. I love how this wine is complex and intellectual. Smooth and addictive. Constantly evolving. Just Outstanding. Definitely in it's prime, but still many years ahead. Great with homemade lasagna.
June 15, 2019 - Drink it. Not much life left. Still good. But on the backside.
November 30, 2018 - Wine 12 of 12 at church. New world in style lots of oak, but fruit to match. Drinking surprisingly well and a real surprise to the upside.
Rich warm and very Bordeaux like, plus some acid and oak.
September 5, 2018 - 1.5 hour decant. Very smooth. Blackberries and semi-tart and sour raspberry/black cherry throughout. A very dry wine to the point of mouth puckering. Some sweet Oak and hints of tobacco, cassis and black currant. The finish was not as long as hoped 15 seconds.
May 6, 2018 - Even with 17 years of age, it still displays lots of sour cherry fruit and tannins. Hint of tar. Good acidic lift, long finish. Lots of life still left!
November 7, 2017 - Much improved since I last tried 3 years ago as the wine is now in perfect balance with good fruit and acidity. Not the most complex wine but thoroughly enjoyable. Best now through 2020
October 17, 2017 - We are really enjoying the evolution this wine is taking. Outstanding again last night. This is a really delicious super Tuscan. Heavy bodied but so smooth. Huge fruit and dried rose bouquet. A dense and varied palate. Every sip seemed slightly different as it slowly opened up. A variety of dark cherry, currant, blackberry, plum, bay leaf, tomato, spice, smoke and graphite. Good acidity, well balanced, and a very long finish. No rush on these.
October 9, 2017 - The wine is in a perfect place now. Loads of smoky fruit, pencil shavings, touch of a tomato leaf. Ripe cab softened by sangiovese, yielding a mineral but rich wine. Balanced and big. Lots of sediment. Drinking well now; probably will last another few years.
