November 9, 2023 - Very Good+
This was a bit muted throughout, but I liked it quite a bit anyway. Good with dinner. No notes, but disappointing against expectations. I don't think this has room to grow from here, so drink up. If you just have it casually with dinner, I think you'll be satisfied.
Note: My 2017 TN was more favorable, another indication that this has peaked.

October 7, 2023 - Rather disappointing for the usually exuberant style of Pavelot. The nose was restrained and what was there indicated a hint of darkish cherry, unresolved oak, and a bit of sous bois. Medium bodied in style but with a heap of acid still showing. The whole package just seems disjointed and I doubt there is enough fruit to soften out the somewhat aggressive nature over time. Had this with braised skirt steak, caramelize shallots, and red wine/demi-glace reduction along with pommes frittes. (Lyon bistro style). This wine isn't bad and was fit for the simple dinner, but just not a particularly enjoyable or memorable Pavelot.

September 24, 2023 - Enjoyable Burgundy. Somewhat simple. Well resolved red fruit and tannins. Minerality on the nose. Probably near then end of its drinking window.

On the palate: good acidity, still rather rustic in style with dense, but not overwhelming tannin. Great fruit and earth on the palate as well. Very nice!
