July 14, 2023 - (WC) decent colour. PNP
The wine was a little flat at first, but breathed up nicely and gained weight and richness. It improved noticeably with air and became rounder. Just enough acidity to keep a balance. 92-93

December 10, 2020 - Feusselottes theme lunch at Sinai. Mystery white amongst the reds. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, yellow colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of deep saline minerality, chalk and limestone, integrated nutty oak, white peach, citrus lemon. Developed.
On the palate, dry, very high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of chalk and limestone, saline minerality, integrated nutty oak, hint of honey, rounded ripe citrus lemon, white peach. Long finish.
Very very good quality. Some richness combined with lovely acidity and I took a stab at the age around ~12 years. Indeed turned out to be 2008. Stylistically a Meursault, and very well made. With the mineral showing prominently to my palate, I was guessing 1er Perrieres. Prime time drinking now already. What a lovely Charmes!

July 31, 2020 - very good wine. More minerality and less richness than some other vintages. No premox and no danger of fading soon. A big, bold wine.

November 12, 2019 - Ripe orchard fruit, apple, vanilla and spice. It got the richness and concentration. Drinking nicely. 92+

August 29, 2019 - Lieu-dit Cur Blind White Dinner (S.K.Y.): Double blind 07/08 Lafon Charmes & 07/08 Grivault Perrières. Wow, crazy good and layered aromatics. The palate has Grand Cru concentration with rich, luscious fruit that is so bright and energetic. Focused, long finish. Wine of the flight.
