August 6, 2022 - Tasted alongside the 2007 Ganevat Vignes de Mon Pere. What a contrast. The Overnoy is all about delicacy and nuance. Very pretty nose with lemon, minerals, and an interesting flinty quality. The palate is perfectly balanced and shows a bit more depth and complexity than the nose. More lemon, lime zest, green apple, and mineral notes follow. Very long finish. A fantastic wine that's all about the interplay of flavors. Not nearly as powerful as the Ganevat, but has enough weight on the palate. This will continue to evolve and probably improve for years to come.

October 20, 2021 - described to me as "the ultimate hipster unicorn". No sulfur added. Originally sold for 8€ per bottle, but today good luck...

lively, tart, lemon-lime, as pointed out to me it has big finish and the flavor gets stronger after you swallow. full of energy per JH. I get a kind of custard flavor and curiously not seeing the hype though one day I may come to rue those words.

June 16, 2018 - Giacosa x Overnoy; 6/16/2018-6/17/2018: PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf”): Medium golden to the eyes.

A little smoke and fresh tobacco leaves, citrus fruits and dried mandarin peels. Relatively consistent notes with the 2005 and 2012 vintages tasted before.

Acidity is very high from entry to finish in a good way, very good and distinctive fruits. Nice persistent finish.

Blind tasting this, it is either Chenin or Savagnin to me. Very good indeed. 93 points.

October 29, 2012 - Rose City Jeeb (Cafe Castagna - Portland, OR): Magnificently pure and clean chardonnay. Beautiful truffle, pear and minerals on the nose . Drank this alongside a 2009 Gahier Chardonnay and Peter remarked that this was like Chablis & Gahier was like chassagne montrachet. This had focus, tons of energy on the palate and incredible acidity. Great stuff.

July 18, 2012 - Dinner at Bar Boulud with the Wines of Overnoy/Houillon: Also excellent, but very different from the 2010. Also savory and mineral, but rounder, richer. Perhaps simply a little older, or a difference in vintage character. This is excellent wine, but the raw mineral audacity of the 2010 was a bit more convincing to me. This is the thing about drinking the wines altogether - had I had this on its own, I would have been amazing by IT - instead there is a lot of comparing when there are various bottles open, and certain innate attributes of single wine can get lost.

September 11, 2011 - Wine was decanted. Nose smelled of geraniums, lemons, minerals. Palate was perfectly balanced with great acidity and a lush structure. Incredibly complex and brilliant wine.

August 5, 2011 - This starts right off with a serious line of acid, but quickly buffers it with that deep, rich, soulful, almost round Overnoy goodness. Lots of finesse. Extremely delicious.
