May 6, 2022 - Light brick transparent red. Musky nose at first then the Morey salinity/gamey comes to life after a bit complimented with cinnamon, red fruit, asian spice. Light earth, dried herbs palate. Light finish but accentuates the red fruit. Nearing end of run. Enjoyable. Drink

April 1, 2020 - Complex nose with Clove, Anise and ripe red fruit. More cinnamon on the palette with really vibrant acidity. One of the better 2008's I've tasted. (Head to head with 2008 Ponsot MSD Alouettes which was nice but more straight forward, less complex)

February 18, 2018 - Decanted this for a few hours. The nose is gorgeous, with a floral and red-fruited complexion. There's a hint of whole cluster as well. The palate is very much the same as the nose, but the whole cluster seems to poke out a little bit here. Unlike some other 2008s that I worry about drying out, this has held up extremely well at age 10. There's ample red fruit here, but the acid and tannin still provide a pretty solid structure for the fruit. Very good: there are elements here that remind me of the 1996 Dujac Clos Saint Denis that I had yesterday. I think with time, this might evolve very favourably. I'm not touching my Clos des Lambrays at all.

November 15, 2015 - Not nearly as opulent as it was in its youth. Has gained complexity with age. Classic Burgundy flavors. Really good.

October 8, 2015 - Light to medium red with brownish edge; pronounced grassy nose; lean and structured, a bit acidic, pine, tannic grip, nice light ripe fruit underneath; long aftertaste; nice and correct but no whao factor, The green style goes through it all

June 17, 2013 - Dinner in Beaune. Drank over 3 hours. Nice open nose of dark fruit, meats, smoke and green stems. The palate matched with great grip and surprising nuance given how young it is. Medium finish with a green, but pleasant note.

January 10, 2013 - Consumed over a few days, notes not kept at the time. From memory, this was a solid showing for a 1er Cru, and good considering the vintage character. 91-92ish

October 18, 2012 - Immediately after opening, very expressive nose, but tight and tannic on the palate. After a couple of hours of air, this really started showing well. Spicy, gamey, lavender, cherry, and marionberry nose. Medium-bodied, complex palate, with tart black and red berries, earthy minerals, toasty spices, and a hint of roasted herbs. Gamey, mineral, cherry finish with grippy tannins. Hold for 3-5 years.

December 3, 2011 - Wow, this wine was unreal. Pop and pour and it was screaming from the get go. Beautiful nose. Cherry and roses on the palate with an earthy finish. Outstanding young Burgundy.

October 18, 2011 - Marquis Wine 25th Anniversary Tasting (Terminal City Club): Wet/mossy/earthy, a nice fresh zingy cherry mixed with a hint of rhubarb.

Conc: To be this had that Je ne sais quoi, that made it my favorite of the night [even tho the score doesn't represent that] its fantastic just hits all those spots
