November 25, 2023 - Had several nice wines over Thanksgiving weekend and this turned out to be the wine of the weekend. It stood out over a couple of Littorai (Chard and Pinot), a Quilceda Creek Cab, and a few others. Smooth, interesting, complex, great balance and acid. The Littorai Chard was close, but for $31.50 direct from the winery back then, such a great deal!

June 29, 2023 - Shared at a wine industry event. Very popular! Black cherry with some licorice undertones. In a good spot.

February 7, 2023 - SPLENDID wine, perfect body , smoort, can likely go on for another 5 or more years

January 12, 2023 - Popped and poured. As soon as the cork cleared the bottle the release of the perfume filled the immediate area. Cherry, brown sugar, mocha and chocolate abounded. The palate tracked the bouquet with precision. The finish goes on forever. On the back label, Eric Baugher’s notes reference “exotic spice” from the 20% American new oak, but I do not detect that at this point. But the wine is absolutely exquisite! Balanced, sensual, and enticing. Every sip leads the nose back to the glass for more data … and another sip. The bottle disappeared so quickly that I had to open another one (which was finished a day later without any diminution in flavor or enjoyment qualities). So far, this is one of the two best wines I’ve had this year and is likely to remain in the top 5 by 123123. 72% Zinfandel, 20% Carignane, 6% Petite Sirah, 2% Mourvedre. Throwing heavy sediment. 14.8% alc., but without a trace of heat. With country ham and coq au vin. 01.12&13.23. Highly Recommended.

October 18, 2022 - Powerful nose - bramble, cassis and sweet spices. It’s in a lovely place, the fruit is still vibrant - maybe a touch of development to the fruit with a hint of raisin / stewed fruit coming through with time in the glass. Still retains really good acidity and a delicate layer of fine dusty tannins. Tobacco and coffee character on finish. Lovely.
