February 28, 2021 - Purchased by my dad upon release and stored in our family's cellar. Lightly decanted.
Appearance: cloudy medium brick color; fairly orange-ish.
On the nose: pretty intense predominately cedar and some tobacco aromas; woodsy.
On the palate: moderate acidity and fairly sweet, medium-intense flavors of dried cranberries, dried rose petals, with notes of fresh fig. Soft medium(-) tannins. Medium-length delicate, refreshing, and almost watery finish.
Overall has nice woodsy earthiness and fruitiness. Flavors of refreshing dried fruit and flowers. -

January 18, 2021 - Coravin fun - Lafon Rochet (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of bramble, blackcurrant, a little plum and cream back this, quite clean and fruit driven after the 1995, cedar, spiced. Medium plus intensity acidity, brambly with blackcurrant and plums which wrestles with the grainy, chalky tannins drying grip, both persist long. Yum.

September 5, 2020 - PnP
Dried black fruit, tobacco, wet earth and woody aromas.
Silky and fully integrated. The tannins are soft but tighten toward the finish. Acidity is low to medium, totally in check to allow the fruit to shine.
This is a wonderful wine that is likely in its prime. I don’t see much upside as it’s totally in the zone right now. It will last longer but I’d drink over the next 5+ years.1 person found this helpful Comment -
