June 11, 2023 - In a perfect place. Medium to full bodies, fine tannins, well balanced and great flavor. Near peak, but plenty of life left here.

    August 18, 2020 - 2nd of 3 bottles, last consumed 2.5 yrs ago.
Showing mature notes of black cherry pie, peat moss, tar, espresso grounds, licorice, plums and mint.
Finely grained tannins and full bodied mouthfeel, showing moderate acidity and Napa know how.
    Drink now through 2025+.

August 7, 2020 - Very refined at this stage. Blackberry, cassis, pencil shavings and sweet oak. Refined grain tannins, reflecting aging. Wonderful to experience how aging reduces fruit forwardness and softens the tannin. Recommend drinking now. Not sure it would benefit (and could possibly diminish) from additional aging.

June 27, 2020 - Deep red center, red rim with some signs of age.
    Sweet, cassis, briarwood, pipe tobacco.
Smooth and rich, plummy and black cherries, some blackberry notes, smokey oak, supporting tannin and acidity, nice length.
Very well made cabernet, mountain fruit, still very Napa, drinking very well now.

April 24, 2020 - This was a very nice wine in its prime on day #1 right out of the bottle - just a few minutes of air and it was singing. Really nice substantial mouthfeel yet glassy and weightless. Rich dark red fruit with juicy acidity and lots of fine grained tannins that added real energy to the finish. Some tobacco and cocoa powder on the finish. Got much less exciting on day #2. I think its time to drink up what you have while still has the verve to be exciting.

July 6, 2019 - Compared to 1.5 years ago, this showed more dark fruits (dark plums, dark cherry, blackberry) and was less bright, floral, and fresh. This tasted of brandy as well. Has that nice Mt. Veeder peppery profile. Still needs a decant of 1 hour to open up. Seems like its transitioning to 2nd half of its life (slightly downside of peak). Good, firm palate with plenty of tannins and a medium to long finish. At this stage, it complements food better than drinking alone.

May 23, 2019 - Big full bodied Mt Veeder. Medium garnet in color. Nose musty upon opening but reveals pencil shavings with some light floral notes. Dark cherry, raspberry, mocha and a hint of mint on the finish. Bigger and bolder than most Mt. Veeder. Medium bodied with a long, lingering finish.

January 26, 2019 - Great Napa cab, very traditional. Black currant, dried tomatoes, cedar, and pencil. Rich with round velvety tannins. Drinks very well now and will do so for many years to come.
