January 6, 2023 - Opened and decanted a bottle of 2007. I was afraid it had lost all its fruit when I tried it immediately after decanting and about one hour later, but it opened up beautifully by the time I served it about 4 hours later.

    July 28, 2021 - From Magnum.

Drank over two hours with 90 min. decant.

Great aromatics: baking spice, red currant, blueberry, menthol. Structured but integrated tannins. Fruit lingered on the finish.

All in all a stunning effort and I would say if at peak will remain there for 2-3 years.

September 25, 2019 - From magnum. Tasted right after regular Napa Duckhorn Merlot. 2016 Most tasters preferred that over the Three Palms. I liked the Three Palms slightly better but it needed more fruit. It seemed muted. Must have been much better several years ago. Creamy, elegant, cherry compote.

February 17, 2018 - Bold, earthy Merlot. Floral aroma; velvety tannin, with flavors of blackberry, dust, minerals. Much better on first day than second day - in its last 1-2 good years.

May 5, 2017 - Garnet in colour; fresh, clean nose of strawberries, raspberries with some heat; palate follows nose with cocoa, leather and cherry; still well structured and balanced, but on the decline; no longer worth the price

December 31, 2016 - Deep garnet core with watery rim; slightly stewed blueberry/blackberry nose with hints of nutmeg and cloves; noticeable alcohol on the nose; big tannins, med+ sweet cherry finish, cocoa, medium body, med+ acidity; wine became more integrated over dinner; drinking well, but slightly past its prime

November 26, 2015 - Not a good effort, this wine is 8 yrs old and a tannic mess, at this point I would like to see the tannins fade a little. IMHO, this shows lack of wine making skill, honestly don't know what was going on here. Would have been better off with a right bank BDX. The nose is good on this wine other then that, not much good to say, waste of money.

November 19, 2015 - From magnum- Needs a 20 min decant- medium bodied, good balance, in prime, average finish- good value- should hold another 3-4 years in this format.
