April 19, 2024 - Wow! Still going strong after 17 years. Whitehall Lane ages amazingly well.

October 25, 2022 - I took a chance on this at auction for $18 all in and was surprised at how good it was. Fully mature cab with balanced dark fruits, earth and moderate tannins. 90 points

February 8, 2022 - Had again tonight compliments of Dan D. Once again I repeat earlier notes. The nose was muted at best with background aromas of cherry and cedar wood. In mouth this was dried cherry, dried figs and some cassis. At the mid palette the wine turned to bay leaf, mint and vanilla bean. The finish was chocolate and licorice with hints of tomato leaves.

July 7, 2021 - In an unfortunate product of the lineup tonight, this wine was just OK. Thanks to Dan D for creating the vertical lineup. We had a 10' and 09' reserve and this 07' regular bottling.

The 07' was dryed cherry, dried figs and some cassis. At the mid palette the wine turned to bay leaf, mint and vanilla bean. The finish was chocolate and licorice with hints of tomato leaf.

February 1, 2020 - Quite good. No hard edges, but drink up, time will no longer improve.

December 27, 2018 - Extremely impressive how this commodity-level wine has aged.
Tannins have indeed softened, but the wine still has character. It probably should be drunk now. I don't think that further aging will yield any further improvements.

December 16, 2017 - This wine is drinking extremely well. The tannins have softened and allowed the deep dark fruit come forward. The fruit consists of bing cherries, dried figs and cassis. There are also layers of toast, mint, cocoa and licorice. This wine was extremely enjoyable and a crowd pleaser.
