March 30, 2024 - Have had better, more layered tastings of this. Saline, bracing, moderately aldehydic, with toasted hazelnuts and a hit of heat. Not sure if restaurant pour was from not the freshest bottle, or what, though this restaurant (Barcelona) must go through cases of this stuff every month.

January 12, 2024 - Delicious wine. First notice the nice level salinity with low acidity. Then you get the lovely nuttiness with a little lemon tea note.

May 24, 2023 - Tasted within a year of bottling, but just by a hair.
Nose: oil-cured olives, cardboard, almonds, cocoa
Palate: big on olives, and a punch of salinity. Medium acidity, moderate body. I want some canned spiced sardines in olive oil and a crusty loaf of bread with this. I'd like to find a fresher bottling, as I'm feeling it creep up to the 1 year mark.

March 3, 2023 - Pale amber. Almonds, green olives, saline, varnish. Dry, full body, medium plus acidity. Bottled in 2018, past prime; remember to check your bottle dates for Sherry.

January 1, 2023 - Salt, nuttiness, and a slight caramel note.

Medium plus acid with a powerful finish dominated by salt.

A fresh style of manzanilla that has great typicity.

December 8, 2022 - Lovely chamomile, green tea, and lemon nose, lively and fresh smelling. Good balance and energy on the palate, where there is more richness than might be expected based on the lithe nose. But also a shorter and less complex finish. Very nice wine, pure enjoyment.

May 17, 2022 - Spanish Wine Scholar - Sherry Week: A: Pale gold
N: Medium (+) hazelnut (roasted), salted lemons, hay
P: Dry, low acid, low alcohol, medium (-) body, medium intensity, medium finish
C: Balance of freshness to concentration. The intensity and finish of this rather simple palate gave way to a good quality wine.
    Not suitable for ageing

March 12, 2022 - Spanish wine (Chicago, IL): From half-bottle. My second favourite after the Valdespino Inocente. Very light and lifted in style; quite bright with a little bit of smoke and plenty of saline elements. A nice vein of acidity to keep this fresh as well.

    February 18, 2022 - Medium gold/amber color

Nose: medium(+) aromas of sweet almond with notes of vegetalness (cruciferous and artichoke), caramel, and peach.

Palate: bone dry, medium/medium(+) acid, lean texture, and medium phenolics. Medium flavors of saline and cheesy artichoke with notes of toast. Medium(-) balance (the acid doesn't feel well-integrated), average complexity, and a very long vegetal and cheesey finish.

Very savory with elevated acid and a highly extended finish!
