August 8, 2020 - 15th of 24, opened 30 minutes, perfect cork and level - best showing by far, always believed this wine could become something special and shed early lumpiness and in some bottles disjointed acidity overwhelming the fruit (and don't get me started on POXy bottles!) based on noting just how well this wine ages in good vintages since the 60s, I love the balance and the tense nervy style showing in this bottle grafted onto proper GC weight, with a bit more steel which I'd trade for chalky minerality, this would be a nigh on perfect expression of CC and for me a white Burg at the very top of its game, this wine is so youthful it has 10 to 20 years of potential further development (and if you don't believe me look at the 85, 89 or 90 if you can get your hands on a bottle!) always assuming no POX. VF with upside (18.5).

June 28, 2020 - Liked better early on. More simple. Not premox. Bought at release and stored properly. Need to start drinking earlier.

June 6, 2020 - My second and sadly last bottle. This did not live up the first bottle which I had at 94 or 95. No premox, just got smoked by the 2010 BDM CC we had with it which had more of everything. Nothing wrong, just perhaps fading a bit as it seemed by comparison simple, straightforward and not terribly complex.

December 1, 2019 - 14th of24, opened 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, bright and youthful, no pox, similar to October bottle, needs time on this showing. F+ (18).

Burgundy-Report

(Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne) Medium-pale lemon-yellow. A high-toned, slightly alcoholic nose that slowly turns from green to yellow-skinned fruit. The palate already shows fine, soft texture and an impressive length. Sweet from the ripe fruit with super balancing acidity. This is a very round and tasty wine that shows a modest burst of fireworks on the mid-palate. Already the oak is mainly consumed - very good Corton-Charlemagne. I'd drink this over the next 18 months and then leave the rest for 8+ years.

(Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne) A young, pale colour. A wine whose aromatics major on fruit. Seems fat, but needs just a little more time as there's still a little oak marking the palate. Gives the impression of lower acidity, but perhaps that's due to the extra fat. Probably starting to sing as you read this - or leave until 2015+
