September 9, 2021 - For the most part this is a good story about the ability of high quality Oz chard to age gracefully. Apart from Giaconda and Leuwin perhaps the next most revered Chardonnay site? Def the best from SA in any event. Primary fruits are tired but still decent life; honyed citrus, good intensity, acid lines. Feels mature without being mature. Caramel oak to finish. Triumph at 14yrs.

November 27, 2018 - The bottle served to us was very oxidised: dark in colour, with flavours of sherry and curdled milk. There was a lot of debate on the table: I said it was almost undrinkable; others said it was oxidised, but still enjoyable. Wine from another bottle was much lighter in colour, and was delicious: minerality and fresh fruit flavours of apple and star fruit, with subtle notes of oak, vanilla, and jasmine, with just a hint of oxidation.

July 3, 2013 - so much better than previous bottle! very restraint by new world standards, lemon and peach and a lick of oak.

December 25, 2011 - very restraint on the nose and in the mouth, some butter, some mineral, but overall uninspiring

(Tapanappa Chardonnay Tiers Vineyard, Piccadilly Valley, Adelaide Hills) The Tiers Vineyard is the flagship white wine of Brian Croser, the first producer to recognize the potential for Chardonnay in this cool part of South Australia. The wine is crisp, minerally, and tightly wound, with toasty oak coming to the fore at present. More understated in style than most Aussie Chardonnays, it has a lovely persistence and intensity of flavor. One to keep. Hot Picks
