August 31, 2012 - The Apothic is a violet wine with a medium body. The nose has black cherry, and oak and. Fruit forward, with tastes of black cherry, plum and faint oak. The finish is average with more black cherry. An everyday drinker and priced that way as well.

February 13, 2012 - Great tasting wine for the price.
Nose is fruity with a slight hint of oak hidden in the background. The taste is fruit forward full of chocolate and cherries. The mouth is full and surprisingly complex for a wine of this price. The winemakers adeptly use the residual sugar to hide its minor flaws; its a bit sweeter than I would like it to be but that is what makes it so desirable to so many. Where's the Zin? -- its hidden in the wine but maybe that's why I like it so much; I love Zins and if I read the label correctly zin is the primary grape. A well done wine. I never thought I'd find a wine consistently this good for the price! -

February 8, 2012 - The Apothic blend is a purple hued wine with a medium plus body. The nose is subdued with black cherry, oak and vanilla. A finely gritty texture is immediately noticeable, along with a viscous mouth feel. Rich and fruity tastes of black cherry, plum and oak. The finish is average with more black cherry and oak. Lots of oak and tannins, but still an everyday drinker and priced that way as well. A previous bottle was way underwhelming compared to this one, there seems to be a lack of consistency bottle to bottle with this wine. The reviews in Cellartracker! seem to support this as they appear to present bimodal data. Awarding an 86 today, but the last bottle was about an 82.
