Pale tan-yellow color (it looks young). Pear aroma, along with a gently spicy/savory note. Medium bodied on the palate; lots of mineral; papaya; persimmon; very nice finish --- medium intensity, and medium-long to long length; medium+ to high acidity; 14.1% alc. not noticeable. Good pairing with lemon/thyme/chicken & risotto.

    -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours --

NOSE: powdery; floral; musk melon; honeydew melon; expressive; not oaky.

BODY: moderately pale brilliant green-yellow color; medium bodied.

TASTE: powdery; light tropical fruit --- papaya; white pear; light smoky mineral note; 14.1% alc. is well-hidden; fruit is ripe, but not in-your-face ripe; orange blossom; medium acidity; quite nice, and probably in its prime drinking window right now: drink now or over the next couple of years. Gut impression score: 90 – 92.

December 3, 2011 - Very nice tropical fruit- lemon, guava and melon Time to drink up. It has lost some of the lemon oil quality that gave it an interesting mouthfeel. Still yummy but starting to lose some vibrancy.

    February 20, 2011 - – cracked and poured –
    – tasted non-blind over a couple hours –

NOSE: green pear; expressive; talc; freshly-baked wheat bread; hint of wood smoke (not oak); walnut banana bread; hint of apple juice.

BODY: tan-green-yellow color of medium depth; medium bodied.

TASTE: green pear; apple juice; vanilla -- later turns more coconutty; expressive; crisp and fruity for a Roussanne; 14.1% alc. is faintly noticeable on the finish; background minerality; decent acidity; medium to medium-long finish (40 - 50 sec.) of moderate intensity.

    B: 50, 5, 12, 17, 8 = 92
