March 22, 2020 - Only the 3rd bottle I've tried from the 2000 vintage, but I must say pretty much across the board I've been impressed. This was still very young. Excellent fill level and the cork was only saturated about 20% of the way up. The color was still quite opaque with just a hint of clearing at the rim. The nose initially was huge with cassis, blueberry, blackcurrant, and lots of oak spice. With air, the oak spice mitigated and this became more complex showing leather, violet, damp earth, tobacco, and just a hint of sweet spice. The palate was rich and decadent; mouth filling and yet still had a jolt of energy to lift it. A long lingering finish of sweet cassis. This bottle was excellent and based on this showing, this has at least another 10-15 years as to me, this was barely even into maturity.

March 17, 2020 - The fill was into the neck and the cork was sound; popped, poured and consumed over the course of three hours. Deep garnet with a hint of bricking. A classic and extroverted bouquet, with notes of dried plums, sautéed mushrooms, spice box and forest floor. Medium bodied, with impressive lift, layers of flavor, good delineation, a velvety texture, and long finish. Fully mature, and I expect well stored bottles will show there best until 2030.

March 15, 2020 - Oddly mature for the age, I would have guessed this much older. There was a bit of oxidized cherry mixed with earth and leather on the nose, but an oddly short finish for a left bank.

March 13, 2020 - Great length and balance for this 20 year old. Cork nose blew off. Ready now. Keep drinking.
