Community Tasting Notes 7

August 16, 2022 - Dinner with the wine group (Terun, Palo Alto): Light ruby, clean; aromatic, red fruited; elegant, lights-medium bodied, integrated tannin, medium alcohol; lovely finish. Really nice but short of exceptional. 90-91

January 4, 2019 - Pleasant chambolle with upside from cellaring. Seemed to be more on the extracted side but yet had decent balance. Not a blockbuster, yet certainly enjoyable.

  • Cote d'Or Likes this wine:

    May 15, 2015 - PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
    -semi-translucent med red minimal bricking
    -moderately expressive red fruit beetroot
-med+ acidity, med- weight with pretty dark red and red fruits cherry pit and a touch of forest floor earthiness, suave texture, decent length, med- tannins, not terribly complex but pretty and harmonious
-very pretty drinking well now in early maturity, remarkably fresh for a 16 year old village wine, excellent

January 11, 2013 - Delicious, Fine, Elegant. Even slightly better than the first bottle. Remarkable complexity for a village wine, real value. So fresh and vibrant that it can live a few more years.

December 8, 2012 - I love this vintage. Even down to village levels you have bottles from the good producers that still are full of life and show no signs of tiring. And it seems to me that bottles from 1999 are rarely closed, they seem to be perfect accessible. This is another of those bottles. Was a little worried because the wine had gone up in the cork to 2/3. But everything was alright. Excellent Pinot fruit and stable acidity, held up the whole evening.
