November 5, 2023 - Only had a small glass, short decant, wonderfully rich, no. sign of fading.
Looking forward to another bottle soon
September 29, 2022 - This was fantastic. We've had a couple bottles of every vintage for a few years and this one was right in line. Definitely ready to drink now.
August 19, 2022 - Opened and decanted at restaurant. Purchased at winery at release, stored at 58 degrees for 13 years. Outstanding. Wine of the year. Does not get any better than this. We marveled at every sip. My last bottle! If this was tasted blind, I would have guessed a 2018 vintage! Absolutely nothing off in this wine - perfection? This will be remembered for a longtime....
August 1, 2022 - Chewy and thick, like a port, almost impossibly concentrated and dense. Leads with maple glaze, backed up by leather and cigar box, raspberry fruit with a nice, surprising edge of something - capers?
May 1, 2022 - PNP late in dinner after laboring through Red Burg that was thin and acidic and really nothing great and especially for price...popped this open so we could have some fun at dinner along with the excellent spatchcock chicken....closer to cellar temp and very good
December 24, 2021 - Drinking well but may improve with age. Re-corked and refrigerated about 1/3 bottle and did not get back to it for 2 days. Very little change or degradation.
November 17, 2021 - Amazing finish, rich notes, slight heat from alcohol, powerhouse, velvet on the tongue, balance - has years still in it.
August 18, 2021 - This is just such a consistently wonderful wine
June 20, 2021 - Deep garnet in color, ox blood. Rich nose of dark cherries, licorice, and hint of dark chocolate. Tastes of crushed blackberries, dark cherries, tobacco, and moca. Lovely mouthfeel, well balanced, and no noticeable alcohol which is impressive for an 14 year old wine with nearly 16% alcohol. Should provide another 5-7 years of pleasurable drinking.
May 7, 2021 - Decanted for 30-45. This was in a great place & still has plenty of life left in it. Beautiful floral sweet black fruit. Hint of smoke & asphalt. No noticeable oak other than vanilla. Good freshness despite weight of fruit. No off putting alcohol. This was excellent!
