November 23, 2017 - - Rosy color.
July 17, 2016 - Consumed over two days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, interesting combination of cherry and cantaloupe dominate with grapefruit and licorice undertones. Palate: Medium bodied, sweet cherry attack, grapefruit notes appear mid-palate, back-end feels a little disjointed with the tart grapefruit and sweet cherry not harmonizing very well and dominating a medium length finish.
November 11, 2012 - Similar to my last note. An excellent Sunday morning start.
July 4, 2012 - Rose's are a much scorned wine - however, Caldwell does an extremely good job with this delicious rose. Excellent fruit, well balanced, but yet light in flvaor, aroma, color, and duration of flavor. a winner all around
April 15, 2012 - Tasted a little muted. Bottle seemed to be in perfect shape. Not bad and certainly drinkable but just did not show much. Nose smells like strawberries, cherries, and the taste of Syrah permeate this Rose. Just a little plain for me but I am not much of a Rose fan to begin with.
February 2, 2012 - - Rosy color with medium forming legs and aromas of moldy and geranium. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of raspberry and strawberry with a light/medium body. Polished texture with a short finish - Really refreshing for a cool spring evening. The Syrah grape and earthiness is muted with the fruit that comes through. Very flexible with many appetizers.
June 27, 2011 - A sweet nose of bright fruit, light rose color. Strawberry, cherries, and cinnamon with good acidity, very good just not as great as the last time I tried it.
December 29, 2010 - A sweet nose of bright fruit, beautiful light rose color. I am not a Rose fan……now I am, at least for this one. Fresh strawberry, cherry, plum and cinnamon with the perfect acidity, flat out delicious. This was Caldwell’s first Rose, hard to top perfection, perfect for summer. I visited with John and Joy Caldwell earlier this year, great people, a must visit if your are visiting Napa.
December 26, 2010 - I drank this one on Christmas day while the kids opened their gifts. Great body and violet color. An echo on the "just a hint of sweetness". Would be an excellent Sunday brunch wine any day of the week. Nice.
November 29, 2010 - Amazing actually. Color is a bit like Big Red and I was thinking "oh no, this is going to be horrible" but upon tasting was totally impressed. Strawberry nose and dry with a hint of sweetness. Manages to retain the structure of the Syrah making this a quaffable delight and one that holds up well to food.
