July 25, 2020 - Method: opened the bottle about 2 hours prior to consuming; Burg glass; about 65 degrees

Look: medium garnet; some skinny medium speed legs

Nose: unagi (to my pleasant surprise), BBQ chip spices, wet forest floor, milk chocolate covered mushroom, black cherry, dark plum, cola; great nose; expressive

Palate: cola, dark cherry, baking spice, dried herbs, mushroom, wet forest floor; medium+ finish of white pepper and light minerality; good flavor concentration; dry; medium+ body; medium big, round, ripe tannins with silky mouthfeel; medium+ acidity

Overall: This wine is in a really great place for me where dark fruit really meets almost equally prominent savory and earthy notes on a concentrated palate. Really great nose that you just want to smell without even taking a sip. Amazing, silky and plump mouthfeel. I'm not sure if it will continue to improve but it's in a really great place right now. Love it!

June 3, 2020 - A pure core of black cherry over apple skin, black plum, and raspberry coulis. Balanced and refreshing.

March 2, 2019 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind New World Pinot Noir (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Double blind in New World Pinot Noir tasting. Really odd today. Ripe, nearly candied with a rich meatiness that wouldn't have made me think it was even Pinot Noir. Pronounced new oak, sweet spice. An off bottle? Tough to say, but I would consider this an 85 point wine today.

July 5, 2017 - This is a big, full bodied napa pinot

Solid fruit with flavors of dark cherry, raspberry and lots of spice. The spice reminded me of the Outpost zins. Very full bodied for a pinot.

    Thanks RockinCabs for sharing

July 1, 2017 - Nose: Nice orange peel, black cherries, framboise and lots of spices. Palate: Black Cherry, Plum, Rhubarb, Anise, Clove and orange peel. Very complex with great palate feel at this point. Finish: Black raspberry and spices this completes with a payload of spice.

Great wine that has been great over the years. Last of 4 from my cellar.

November 22, 2016 - Full bodied style. Blackberry and black cherry cola notes. There seems to be a bit of heat on the finish that I didn't note the last time I tried this.

March 15, 2016 - Snowdays with some 90 pointers: R-M delivers another WOTN (feels like it happens a lot). Deep, rich, structured, and cellared well evidently. Wild berry and pomegranate fruit is abundant and then that lovely R-M signature orange peel accent takes it to another level.
