May 25, 2016 - Delicious. Fruit softened with age but still very present. Balanced and full-bodied.

August 18, 2013 - Fruit bomb of a Zin. Still, very drinkable. You need something big and bold to stand up to this wine like BBQ, burgers, or a red sauce based pizza. Light food will get lost with this. It's full of ripe, muddled berries and vanilla. Eaten with 60% cocoa dark chocolate, I got a little earthiness not evident with the wine straight up.

July 28, 2013 - This wine is a huge wine for a $7 bottle....it comes in at 14.5% alcohol but you really never notice the ABV except for a bit of hotness on the back palate. I have had numerous bottles of various vintages of this wine and I can say universally that I believe most people drink it way to early. A couple years of cellar time really helps the wine be more in balance.
I popped the cork and poured a taste and was hit but a myriad of flavor that all hit at once; I decided to let the bottle stand for about 15 minutes and then pour everyone a glass but had them sit out for another 10+ before they were served. The time to breath was very beneficial to this wine...all the flavors began to open and separate into layers
Color a nice red-edged deep plum. Nose was mostly fruit basket and dry earth. The wine had lots of spice and layered fruit and a nice medium dry tannin finish. This dank exceptionally well with a spicy chicken enchilada; everyone else rated this the best of the thee Zins we had.
